Beat the Silence

Nach ihrer Premiere 2023 im Wiener Konzerthaus und Stationen im Porgy & Bess, Sargfabrik, WUK und dem Wiener Kultursommer bringt Beat the Silence ihr Programm ins Theater Phönix.
 
Den Auftakt macht die österreichische Singer-Songwriterin Veronika Morscher, die mit ihrer warmen Stimme berührende Geschichten aus ihrem Album Blooming erzählt die heilen und Mut machen. Begleitet werden ihre Songs mit Gebärdensprachpoesie und Tanz von Anja Tanzende Hände, Lucia Rosenfeld, Sonja Hanl.

Anschließend überzeugt die zweifache Beatbox-Weltmeister Crew M.O.M mit einer Mischung aus Tanzmusik und einer guten Portion Humor. Dabei kreiert sie verschiedenste Klangwelten, sei es Techno, Drum’n’Bass oder Latin – und das ausschließlich mit dem Mund.
 
Nach ihrer Premiere bei Beat the Silence 2024 im WUK kehrt die IMANI Drumshow mit ihrer energiegeladenen Performance zurück. Sie kombinieren Schlagzeug, Percussion und Lichteffekte und bringen damit die Bühne zum Beben – für Beats, die den ganzen Körper erfassen.
 
Diese Veranstaltung richtet sich an hörende, schwerhörige und gehörlose Personen gleichermaßen und ist akustisch barrierefrei gestaltet.  Vorab zeigt die interaktive Hands Up Ausstellung, wie das Leben ohne Gehör funktioniert.

After their premiere in 2023 at the Wiener Konzerthaus and stops at the Porgy & Bess, Sargfabrik, WUK and the Wiener Kultursommer, Beat the Silence will bring their program to the Theater Phönix.

Austrian singer-songwriter Veronika Morscher will kick things off with her warm voice, telling touching stories from her album Blooming that heal and encourage. Her songs are accompanied by sign language poetry and dance by Anja Tanzende Hände, Lucia Rosenfeld and Sonja Hanl.

Afterwards, the two-time beatbox world champion crew M.O.M will impress with a mixture of dance music and a good dose of humor. They create a wide variety of soundscapes, be it techno, drum'n'bass or Latin - using only their mouths.

After their premiere at Beat the Silence 2024 at the WUK, IMANI Drumshow returns with their energetic performance. Combining drums, percussion and lighting effects, they make the stage shake - for beats that engage the whole body.

This event is aimed at hearing, hard of hearing and deaf people alike and is designed to be acoustically accessible. Beforehand, the interactive Hands Up exhibition shows how life works without hearing.
